Visit the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond to see the “A Christmas Story” Comes Home exhibit, featuring six animatronic window displays from Macy’s in New York. Each display is a different scene from the holiday classic “A Christmas Story”. The exhibit takes place mid-November through December.
The first Saturday in December, celebrate the holiday season with Hammond’s Holiday Parade through downtown. You might even see Santa!
In the evenings, take your family out to view holiday light displays throughout the South Shore. Fair Oaks Farms, Harvest Tyme, the City of Whiting, Washington Park and Sunset Hill County Park all have fun displays to either drive or stroll through. At some locations, they have piping hot chocolate to warm you up, too!
