Lake Station, Indiana

In 1852, the city of Lake Station was platted by George Earle alongside the very first railroad in Lake County. As the county's only depot stop on the Detroit to Chicago line for several years, it was a hub of activity. Over the years, Lake Station has gone through many changes and has become a diverse community, proud of its educational, recreational and industrial facilities.

Lake Station has many beautiful parks. The 43-acre Riverview Park has a swimming pool, sand volleyball courts and boating access with rentals. Columbus Park features a basketball court, paved fitness/walking track and picnic shelters.

Three Rivers Park offers fishing, cycling and paddle boating. Bellaboo's Play and Discovery Center, located within the park, has tons of activities and events for young children.

Septemberfest, held around Labor Day each year, is a three-day event featuring live music, fireworks show, kids' programs, food vendors and a bean bag tournament.
